Questions Answered? is a handbook created for Design and Visual Communication students at UW-Milwaukee. The intention was to create a workbook that encourages interaction while giving the student information about the program as well as resources.
I was inspired by a book called Wreck This Book where the user is encouraged on each page to scribble in it or tear out pages. I added pages that encouraged the user to draw things or remove a page and turn it into a paper airplane, or to write design jokes. I wanted this piece to be a fun experience as well as informative.
I explored a lot with design elements, typography, and texture in this piece. I kept to a blue, magenta, purple, black and white color palette so that the bright colors would jump off the page in places. I went from simple shape illustrations to incorporating texture and playful typographic elements to make the pages more visually interesting.
